Sydney Burton is the director of education markets for NEC Corporation of America, and is responsible for growing NEC’s presence in the higher education market. In her career within the telecommunications industry, Burton has held positions developing software, managing software engineering and product engineering, supporting alpha and beta test customers and defining services for network management and maintenance. Burton holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree from the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management. |
As host for the annual meeting of the NEC Higher Education Customer Advisory Council, as well as previous speaking appearances at ACUTA’s seasonal seminars, NEC Users Group and the League for Innovation in the Community College, Burton applies a strong working knowledge of the industry to shape thought leadership in education. |
At the 2010 Creating Futures Through Technology Conference, Burton will present a forward-thinking view into the growing non-traditional competition in higher education. She will discuss the anticipated growth in those seeking post-secondary credentials and how this audience can prepare to handle these market developments. |
