Spending Transparency

Mississippi’s community college system is committed to operating in a transparent manner with its use of state funds. This website has been created as a way for Mississippians to track how our community colleges spend public funds. Information included on this site includes expenses paid through the vendor systems of the state as well as each community college.

The funding sources include restricted funds, which can be used for specific purposes; plant funds; and unrestricted funds, which can be used for any allowable expenses under federal, state, and community college guidelines.

The community colleges also have auxiliary departments that receive no state funding and must generate all of their own revenue. Examples include housing, dining services, the bookstore and parking services.

For more information, click “How use this site and definitions” or “FAQs” at the bottom of this page.
